CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Tyler Roeszler, Keir Ross and Blake Gallagher each had a goal as the Cornell men's hockey team scored a 3-0 victory over rival Harvard on Friday night at the Bright Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass. The win keeps Cornell tied atop the ECAC Hockey standings with Yale, a 7-5 winner over St. Lawrence on Friday night.

Roeszler and Ross scored just 25 seconds apart in the second period, providing all the offense needed by the Big Red (16-7-3, 13-4-2 ECAC Hockey) to knock off Harvard (7-16-3, 7-9-3 ECAC Hockey) for the second time this season and for the first time at Harvard's Bright Hockey Center since Nov. 11, 2005. Riley Nash had a pair of assists, while Nick D'Agostino, Sean Collins, Colin Greening and Justin Krueger each added a single assist.

Ben Scrivens posted 22 saves for his fifth shutout of the season and the 16th of his Cornell career, leaving him two shy of tying David McKee for the career lead in that category. Harvard netminder Kyle Richter stopped 23 shots in taking the loss. Neither team had success on the power play on the night, as both teams went 0-for-2.

After a scoreless first period that saw Scrivens make just six saves and Richter stop just two shots, Cornell got on the board with Roeszler's fourth goal of the month of February at the 10:14 mark of the second period. Just 25 seconds later, it was Ross adding his second tally of the year, with Nash and Greening tallying assists to stake Cornell to a 2-0 lead.

That lead would be more than enough, as Scrivens and the Cornell defense shut the door on the Crimson, allowing just two shots on goal in the second period. Scrivens stopped all 14 shots he faced in the third period as Cornell locked away the win, and Gallagher scored an empty-net goal with 21.6 seconds to play to seal the victory.

Cornell returns to action on Saturday, making the trip to Hanover, N.H., for a 7 p.m. contest against Dartmouth at Thompson Arena.
