Fencing Places 14th At NCAA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Cornell women's fencing team posted a 14th-place finish, using scorers in both saber and epee to place ahead of fellow Ivy schools Yale and Brown with 19 points. St. John's won the national title in a tight three-team race over runner-up Notre Dame and Penn State.

Finishing 17th in saber was freshman Beverly Yang with nine bout victories, while Cornell's pair of epeeists, Adelaide McDonnell and Katherine Thompson, were 21st and 23rd, respectively. Both scored five wins, with McDonnell finishing two spots ahead on touch differential.
