ANNAPOLIS, Md. – In terrible weather conditions that forced the cancelation of four races, the Big Red earned the Goes Trophy for the second straight year by defeating Syracuse in a photo finish. This is the first time in nearly a decade that Cornell has won the trophy two years in a row, last doing so in 2000 and 2001.
Because of the cancellation of the other four races, the Stagg Point Trophy was not awarded. As a result, Cornell, which won the trophy last season, retains it until next year.
Varsity 8*
1) Cornell 5:59.1
2) Syracuse 5:59.5
3) Navy 6:08.6
*The race was a photo finish, closer than the actual timed margin.
