Heavyweight Rowing Posts Trio of Victories Over Drexel

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell men's heavyweight rowing team hosted Drexel on the Cayuga Inlet Saturday morning, racing 2,000 meters in cold, swirling winds with a slight current and chop in the second half of the course.

Cornell's varsity eight set the tone, finishing 4.4 seconds ahead of Drexel. The 2V8+ and 3V8+ followed suit, with the 2V8+ finishing 3.5 seconds faster than the Dragons and the 3V8+ crossing having a near-five-second victory.

In the 4V8+, Drexel's 'A' boat edged Cornell by 5.6 seconds, with Drexel's 5V8+ entry crossing the finish line almost 30 seconds after the Big Red.

A LOOK UPSTREAM
Cornell will continue its stretch of six consecutive weekends of events when it travels to Cambridge, Mass., to face Harvard in the annual Robinson Cup. Race action is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 4, and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
