Game 1 Box Score (Cornell 10, Columbia 0 in 5 innings)
Game 2 Box Score (Cornell 4, Columbia 1)

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Junior Elizabeth Dalrymple picked up wins in both ends of a doubleheader and freshman Kristen Towne tied a school record with her three doubles in a game as the Cornell softball team topped Columbia 10-0 in a five-inning first game before topping the Lions 4-1 in game two on Saturday afternoon at Niemand*Robison Field. The Big Red remained in first place in the South Division of the Ivy League with its 26-11 record (12-2 Ivy), holding a three-game lead over second-place Penn. The Lions slipped to 11-28 (2-12 Ivy) with the pair of losses.

Dalrymple allowed only one hit in 4.0 innings of the first game with six strikeouts before being pulled after the Big Red jumped out to a 10-0 lead. She came back in game two to scatter seven hits while striking out four in a complete game victory. The only run she allowed was a solo homer by Kayla Lechler with two outs in the sixth inning, snapping a stretch of 10 2/3 innings without a run on the day for Columbia.

Game one saw the Big Red pound out 13 hits, including six extra-base hits. Three of those were doubles by Towne, who matched Wendy Fiel's 1997 single game record. She ended the day 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored. Marissa Amiraian also went 3-for-3 in game one, while Devon March and Shannon Crane each collected two hits. March drove in three runs with her two singles. Vanessa Leonhard was 1-for-2 with her first home run of the season. THe Big Red scored three runs in the first, second and fourth innings to put the game away.

Game two was more of a grinder for the home team, who shellacked Columbia pitcher Maggie Johnson early for three runs, but could plate just one more the rest of the way. Alyson Intihar opened the game with a triple and ended the day 2-for-4 with a run scored, matching Kate Varde's school record of 160 career runs scored. Also saddling up to a school record was Elise Menake, whose game two double matched Lauren May atop the charts with 48 in her four seasons.

The two teams will meet again on Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m., and Cornell will celebrate Senior Day for its six seniors.
