TORONTO, Ontario -- Ben Scrivens, who finished his career among the legendary names of Cornell hockey goaltenders, has signed a one-year entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the club announced on Wednesday. Scrivens is the third member of this year's senior class from Cornell to sign with an NHL club, joining with Brendon Nash (Montreal Canadiens) and Colin Greening (Ottawa Senators).

Scrivens, who was a Hobey Baker Award finalist this season, was also named a first-team All-American and garnered the ECAC Hockey Ken Dryden Award as the league's top goaltender. He finished first nationally in save percentage (.934) and was tied for first in goals-against average (1.87). Scrivens also posted seven shutouts for the second straight season and recorded the third-longest shutout streak in NCAA history when he blanked Harvard, Brown and Union in consecutive games, topping out at 267:11.

Scrivens finished his career as Cornell's all-time leader in shutouts (19) and saves (2,873) while tying for first with David McKee in total saves (13). He also finished tied with McKee in wins (65) and was fourth in both goals-against average (1.93) and save percentage (.930). Additionally, the 117 games played were the most ever by a Cornell goaltender.

Scrivens joins Nash in signing with NHL teams as an undrafted free agent, while Greening signed with Ottawa, the team that selected him in the seventh round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
