CHARLOTTESVILLE - The top-ranked Virginia men's tennis team defeated No. 66 Cornell, 7-0, this evening at the ITA Kickoff Weekend event at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar's Head Sports Club. The four-team tournament is used for qualification for the 2011 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, held next month in Seattle, and will continue tomorrow with the Big Red facing No. 50 Binghamton. 

"It's never going to be easy when you play the #1 team in the country on their home courts," said head coach Tony Bresky. "Unfortunately we were missing one of our top players but I think we learned a lot from the experience. We played really well in certain spots. I think all of our guys are looking forward to another chance to compete tomorrow against #50 Binghamton"
