ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's squash team got wins from Jaime Laird, Jesse Pacheco, Maggie Remsen, Alexandra Glassman and Laura Caty to score a hard-fought 5-4 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at the Belkin International Squash Courts in Ithaca.

Pacheco, Remsen and Caty each won in three sets, with Laird needing four to dispatch Valeria Wiens at the number one spot. Glassman had the key match of the day, however, coming back from a 2-1 deficit in her match to rally for a 3-2 victory at the number six spot.

The Big Red, ranked seventh in the most recent national rankings, downed the eighth-ranked Big Green in a critical weekend for the Big Red. Cornell returns to action with a pair of matches on Sunday, facing Williams at 10 a.m. before battling Trinity in a 2 p.m. match at the Belkin International Squash Courts. Williams entered the weekend ranked ninth, while Trinity was third in the rankings.
