ITHACA, N.Y. -- The men's squash team hit the intersession break in winning style after three convincing victories on Friday and Saturday at Belkin International Squash Courts. The Big Red downed Western Ontario, 8-1, on Friday evening, then topped Columbia, 8-1, and St. Lawrence, 9-0, on Saturday.

The sixth-ranked Big Red started the weekend by topping the 11th-ranked Mustangs. The three matches at the top of the lineup all went four or five sets apiece, but Cornell dominated down the order from there. Arjun Gupta (No. 4), Will Hartigan (No. 5), Owen Butler (No. 7) and Rishi Jalan (No. 8) all won in straight sets.
 
All nine matches of the team's Ivy League opener against No. 20 Columbia were decided in straight sets, and there were no five-set matches against No. 12 St. Lawrence.
 
Alex Domenick (No. 2), Gupta, Hartigan, David Hilton (No. 6), Butler, Jalan and Bryan Keating (No. 9) all went 3-0 on the weekend.
 
The Big Red returns to action after the semester break with a three-match weekend in New England against Trinity (Jan. 13), Yale (Jan. 14) and Brown (Jan. 15).
