ITHACA, N.Y. -- The women's squash team rolled to a pair of 9-0 victories over Columbia and St. Lawrence on Saturday at Belkin International Squash Courts, ending the fall semester portion of its schedule with a 5-1 record and 1-0 in the Ivy League.
 
Maggie Remsen, Clare Berner, Lauren Sachvie and Lexi Glassman were the only Big Red competitors to play two matches on the day, and each won both of their respective match-ups.
 
Cornell kicked off the morning against Columbia, which is in its second varsity season and first in the Ivy League. The Big Red set the tone with straight-set victories from Glassman (No. 9) and Jesse Pacheco (No. 3). Remsen took a 2-up lead on Columbia's Katie Quan at No. 6 before being forced to a fifth set, which was won by the Big Red junior, 11-9. Sachvie lost only four points in her entire match at No. 8.
 
It was much of the same against the 27th-ranked Saints. The Big Red shook up its lineup, allowing a handful of competitors to make their season debuts. Laura Caty, Sofia Thierry, Jacqueline Wagner, Kate Donatiello and Sydney Chirls each won handily in straight sets after sitting out the morning session.
 
The Big Red is idle until mid-January, when it hits the road for three matches in a three-day stretch against Trinity, Yale and Brown.
