Women’s Tennis Nipped by Columbia, 4-3

2011 ECAC Indoor Women's Tennis Championships Bracket

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Cornell women's tennis team fell to Columbia, 4-3, in the second round of the 2011 ECAC Indoor Women's Tennis Championships, held in Jadwin Gymnasium at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. The Big Red swept all three matches to earn the double point and then picked up victories from No. 2 Ryann Young and No. 4 Ruxandra Dumitrescu.

Cornell will continue in the back draw, facing the loser of the match between No. 2 Yale and No. 7 Columbia. The match will take place tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8 a.m.

The Big Red will conclude the tournament on Sunday, Feb. 20, as it faces NJIT to determine seventh place. The match is slated to begin at 8 a.m.
