PRINCETON, N.J. -- On the strength of the middle of the lineup, the Cornell women's squash team claimed seventh place at the 2011 national championships on Sunday, defeating Dartmouth by a 5-4 margin in Princeton, N.J.
Cornell claimed victories at the fifth through eighth spots in the lineup for the bulk of its points, clinching the match with Jesse Pacheco's four-set victory at the third spot. Also victorious on the day were
Alexandra Glassman, Maggie Remsen,
Laura Caty and
Clare Berner as the Big Red matched its pre-tournament seed with the seventh-place finish.
The women conclude the team portion of the season with a 6-7 overall record. Next up for the Big Red is the individual championships, which will be held from March 4-6 at Hanover, N.H.
