Game 1 Box Score (Cornell 10, Liberty 6)
Game 2 Box Score (Liberty 9, Cornell 1 - 6 innings)

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Cornell's offense broke out in game one to help the Big Red to a doubleheader split with Liberty on Thursday afternoon, winning game one 10-6 and dropping the nightcap 9-1 in six innings. Cornell moved to 6-10-1, while Liberty's record is now 9-12-1 after the split.

Cornell jumped out to a 10-0 lead and held on in the opener despite Liberty's late rally, spoiling the Flames' home opener. Dalrymple evened her record at 3-3 with yet another complete game, allowing just two earned runs and scattering seven hits while striking out seven. But it was Cornell's offense that broke through, collecting a season-high 13 hits, including a 4-for-4 effort by Erin Keene and a 3-for-4 day with five RBI from Kristen Towne. Both Keene and Towne slammed home runs in the victory and Keene scored three times. Lauren Bucolo, Morgan Cawley and Cassie Walisiak each had two hits, with Cawley driving in a pair.

Cornell scored a run in each inning between the second and sixth innings, including three in both the third and sixth. Keene's solo shot in the second got the visitors started, and Towne's two-run shot in the third continued Cornell's early dominance. The Flames did most of its damage in the sixth, scoring five times to cut the lead in half, highlighted by a three-run homer by Kelly Strickland to get the home fans back into the game. Keely McMillon homered in the seventh with one out to close out the scoring for Liberty.

The Flames turned the tide in game two, breaking open a 2-1 advantage with two runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth to run-rule the Big Red. Five different players each collected a hit, with Keene going 1-for-3 to end the day 5-for-7.
