ITHACA, N.Y. – The Big Red field hockey team had a three-game winning streak over Penn snapped this afternoon at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Cornell (2-3) will have an opportunity to get back on a winning track tomorrow as it returns home to face St. Francis (Pa.) in a non-conference game on Marsha Dodson Field at 4 p.m.

Senior goalie Alex Botte made six saves to keep the Big Red in the contest, but a goal by Emily Corcoran in the 44th minute proved to be the difference maker.

Cornell carried the play throughout the game and held the edge in shots (14-10), shots on goal (10-7) and corners (11-5) but was turned away at every opportunity by Kieran Sweeney, who made nine saves to go along with a defensive save by Penn defender Mary Rose Croddick in the 57th minute of action.
