NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's swimming and diving team had plenty of positives on the board and the pool, but fell to Columbia in a dual meet 205.5-92.5 on Saturday afternoon. The Big Red dropped to 1-6 in dual meet action on the season.

The day started out well for the Big Red, as sophomore Phillip Truong (313.28) and junior Jon Zollo (296.40) finished 1-2 in the 3-meter diving competition. It was the lone victory of the day for the Big Red, but Cornell still had plenty of positives to pull from.

Jake Sangren finished second in the 100 back (51.31) and Julian Chan took second in both the 100 (58.96) and 200 breast (2:10.00). Kevin Brazitis was the runner-up in the 100 free (46.79), with Taylor Wilson capturing second in the 500 free (4:46.84).

Cornell is back in action for its lone home meet of the season when the Big Red plays host to Brown on Saturday, Feb. 4. The diving will commence at 10:30 a.m., with swimming beginning at 1:30 p.m. The senior class will be honored prior to the competition.
