Volleyball Slips At Princeton, 3-1

Box Score PRINCETON, N.J. – The Big Red volleyball team gave league-leading Princeton all they could handle, but fell to the Tigers, 3-1, this evening in Dillon Gym. Princeton (8-7, 4-0 Ivy) won the first and fourth matches by the identical score of 25-14, but barely clipped Cornell, 27-25 in the second set before the visitors won the third, 25-20. With the loss, the Big Red falls to 4-10 overall (1-3 Ivy).

Kelly Marble had a team-high 15 kills, while Breanna Wong finished with nine kills. Cornell's middle hitters – Janel Forte (6-1-9) and Rachel D'Epagnier (5-1-10) – combined for 11 kills and just two errors on 19 attacks. Forts also finished with an impressive seven blocks (one solo, six assisted).

Senior setter Lucy Zheng got her second start of the season and finished with 38 assists.

Princeton was led by Lydia Rudnick and Kendall Peterkin with 19 and 14 kills, respectively. Setter Ginny Wills handed out 35 assists and Rudnick also posted a team-best nine digs.

The Tigers hit .287 for the match, with not a single player posting a negative hitting percentage, while Cornell finished at .155 for the match.
