ITHACA, N.Y. – The men's squash team finished its regular season on a winning note Sunday with a pair of 9-0 victories over Penn and Hobart at Belkin International Squash Courts.
 
Will Hartigan, Arjun Gupta, Owen Butler, Bryan Keating, Ryan Todd and Rishi Jalan won two matches apiece on the day, with the afternoon match against the Statesmen featuring a modified lineup that gave the Big Red's top three a rest.
 
In the Ivy League finale, sixth-ranked Cornell (12-4, 4-3) took six of the nine matches against the Quakers in three games. Nick Sachvie (No. 1), Hartigan (No. 4) and Butler (No. 6) all fell behind in the opening game of their respective matches before storming back to win in four.
 
Every match against 27th-ranked Hobart was decided in three, with the Statesmen getting no closer than nine points in any individual game. Matthew Shang and Stephen Stinson each made their second appearances of the season at the Nos. 8 and 9 spots, respectively. The Big Red wrapped up its season 9-1 at Belkin.
 
Up next for Cornell is the College Squash Association's National Championships next weekend in Princeton, N.J. The Big Red, which has been ranked sixth for the entire season, is expected to be placed in the top-flight Potter Cup. The nation's top eight teams will play off for the national title.
