CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Virginia scored the first 14 goals of the game and cruised to an easy 28-4 victory over the Big Red on Saturday evening. The defending national champion Cavaliers led 23-2 heading into the fourth chukker and never looked back.
The Cornell men traveled to the number one ranked Cavaliers this evening and found out why they are ranked No. 1. The Cavaliers scored early and often throughout the first and second chukker. The Big Red would not break through until the score was 14-0 at the end of the second. UVa was quicker, stronger and faster than Cornell. Things didn't get much better in the third as the visitors only scored one more, while the Cavaliers scored nine times. Cornell managed to score twice in the fourth and held Uva to five goals to make the final tally 28-4 in their favor.
