ITHACA, N.Y. – The goals and wins keep coming for the Big Red men's soccer team, which is on a six-game winning streak and is one of just six teams in the country left unbeaten and untied. When Saint Joseph's comes to town on Saturday, the team will look to continue that streak and extend a newly broken school record in the process.

ABOUT THE BIG RED
After a 5-0 victory against Binghamton on Wednesday night, the Big Red offense, defense and goaltending are clearly clicking heading into the final weekend before Ivy League play begins. Now sitting at 6-0 on the season, Cornell has not lost since the second-to-last game of the 2011 campaign. Junior striker Daniel Haber leads the nation with nine goals and also tops the country in goals per game and points per game. On defense, the Big Red has allowed just two goals in six games and has earned four shutouts already on the season. The team is also ranked No. 24 in the country in the NSCAA Coaches' Poll.

HEAD COACH JARO ZAWISLAN
Now in his fourth year with the Big Red program, Jaro Zawislan has unquestionably put his stamp on the team. With a stifling defense and an aggressive offense, Zawislan has transformed what was a 1-15 team before his arrival into an 8-2-6 team in 2011 and a potential contender for the Ivy League title in 2012. Zawislan, a native of Poland, holds a 24-16-15 record during his time in Ithaca. He played soccer for four years at Clemson and then spent time professionally in the United States and Poland.

ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S
The Hawks, based in Philadelphia, enter Saturday's game coming off a 3-0 victory against Rider and a 4-4 record on the season overall. Saint Joseph's began the 2012 year with three consecutive victories before following that with four losses in a row. Alex Critzos is the team's leading scorer with two goals, while four other Hawks have a goal each. Andrew D'Ottavi has played every minute in goal, recording one shutout while allowing 1.98 goals per game.
The Hawks are coaches by Don D'Ambra, now in his third year at the helm of his alma mater.

THE SERIES WITH SAINT JOSEPH'S
Cornell is unbeaten lifetime against Saint Joseph's, though that lifetime is only two years old. The Big Red knocked off the Hawks 3-1 in 2010 with goals from three players no longer on the roster – Jimmy Lannon, Chase Aaronson and Ben Kenyon. Cornell claimed victory again last season thanks to Daniel Haber's 42nd-minute goal after rain delayed the start of the game for hours.

A WIN AGAINST SAINT JOSEPH'S WOULD…
…be Cornell's seventh consecutive win, its longest winning streak since 1995…open the year with seven straight victories for the first time since 1975…extend Cornell's non-conference unbeaten streak to 15 games…increase the school record for consecutive games with a goal to 23 contests…increase the series advantage over the Hawks to 3-0.

NATIONALLY RANKED
Thanks to its 6-0 start, the Big Red earned its first national ranking this season when it was voted No. 24 in the NSCAA Coaches' Poll released on Tuesday and tied for No. 25 in Soccer America's rankings released Wednesday. The Big Red was ranked No. 25 for one week last year but had not been ranked before that since 2001. Cornell is the only Ivy League team in the national rankings. Cornell is also receiving votes from College Soccer News and is three spots out of its top 30. On SoccerTimes.com, Cornell is receiving four votes and is seven spots from the top 25.

RECORD BROKEN
With Peter Chodas' goal on Wednesday night, the Big Red officially broke a Cornell record that had stood for 41 seasons. The 1970 and 1971 teams had combined for 21 consecutive contests with a goal. Chodas' score, though, made 22 straight games for the Big Red with a goal dating back to the 2011 season opener. Cornell can extend its own record to 23 on Saturday.

FIVE GOALS
Cornell's five-goal outburst on Wednesday night against Binghamton was the team's first five-goal game since Sept. 22, 2001 against Adelphi. Cornell has not scored six goals in a single game since Oct. 31, 2000 against Army.

MULTI-GOAL GAMES
Before the 2012 season, no Cornell player had scored more than one goal in a game since 2008. This year, junior Daniel Haber already has three multi-goal games. He scored twice at Loyola Marymount on Sept. 2, three times against Buffalo on Sept. 9 and three times at Binghamton on Wednesday. His nine goals on the year already equal his total from all of 2011.

OFFENSIVE DEFENSEMAN
Sophomore defender Peter Chodas is a stalwart right back for the Big Red, but Wednesday night saw him score his first career goal. After a corner kick by Haber bounced around the box and out, Chodas lined up the rebound and drilled the shot home from 30 yards.

TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS
For the second consecutive season, the Big Red men's soccer team claimed the CU Inaria Classic title when it defeated Wofford on Sunday. Though Cornell and Vermont only played one contest each because of a rainout on Friday, the Big Red finished the tournament with three points in the standings and a head-to-head victory against Wofford to win the title. Wofford finished second with three points while Vermont took third and Colgate finished last. Cornell defeated Hofstra and Long Island University last season to win the first CU Inaria Classic.

AMONG THE UNBLEMISHED
Cornell is one of just six teams remaining in the country who have not lost a game yet. Besides the Big Red, UC Riverside (7-0), Marquette (7-0), Notre Dame (7-0), High Point (6-0) and Old Dominion (6-0) still have not lost or tied a contest.

TWO-TIME PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haber was rewarded with his second consecutive Ivy League Player of the Week award last week, which is the first time a Cornell player has done that as far back as the league's records go. Haber was also the College Sports Madness Ivy League Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

NATIONAL STATISTICS
Cornell continues to rank high up in the country in multiple statistical categories as of Monday. As a team, the Big Red is fifth in team goals against average (0.4) and 10th in shutout percentage (60 percent). The Big Red's scoring offense of 2.2 goals per game is 20th in the nation, and Cornell's win percentage (100 percent) is tied for first with six others.
Individually, Daniel Haber remains on top of the nation in points per game (3.2), goals per game (1.4) and is tied for first in total goals (seven) despite playing one to three games fewer than the other athletes who also have seven. Haber is fifth in the country in total points (18). The Big Red has four players in the top 100 national for assists per game (Nico Nissl, Atticus DeProspo, Tyler Regan and Haber) and goalie Rick Pflasterer has the sixth-best goals against average (0.41) in the country.

CAREER NUMBERS WATCH
Peter Chodas is five minutes shy of 2,000 in his career.
Daniel Haber is one goal away from his 20th and three points shy of 50.
Nico Nissl needs just one more point for 10.
Rick Pflasterer's next win will be his 20th.
Tyler Regan and Patrick Slogic will reach five goals when they score next.
Zach Zagorski is one save shy of 10.

SPREADING THE LOVE
Almost everyone on the roster has gotten a chance to play so far this season as 24 of the 26 members of the team have seen playing time this year. All of Cornell's freshmen have seen playing time, as have junior goalkeepers Kurtis Teskoski and Ian Pazica, who had not played in two years entering the season.

HERMANN TROPHY WATCH
Patrick Slogic is getting some national recognition as well, as he has made the 2012 Hermann Trophy Watch List. The trophy is given to the nation's top soccer player every year by the Missouri Athletic Club, and Slogic was one of 42 athletes who made the initial watch list. He will find out if he makes the first cut down to 15 players in November.

BRING IN THE YOUNG GUNS
The 2012 Cornell squad features five new players, including four freshmen and one sophomore. The freshmen class includes midfielders Ben Feldman, Simba Meki and Sanath Shettigar, who will all hope to play a vital role in the center of the action in their first years. Also new to the team on defense are freshmen Skyler Erickson – a walk-on player – and sophomore Devin Morgan, who practiced with the team during the spring.

UP NEXT
The Big Red will play its third game in seven days as it hosts Hartwick on Tuesday night. The game between Cornell and the Hawks kicks off at 7 p.m.
