ITHACA, N.Y. -- Familiar foes will meet in the 2013 USPA Northeast Regional championship after Cornell knocked off Brown 32-2 on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red will play perennial regional contender Connecticut in Sunday's final.

Ranked No. 1 in the region, Cornell used a lineup of Nick Stieg, Hakan Karabey and Nik Feldman to open up right away and put the home team into the winner's bracket. Stieg led Cornell with five goals in the chukker and helped post Cornell to a 12-0 lead after one. Stieg and Feldman took a seat for the rest of the day with Justin Schick and Emerson Bilodeau stepping in. The Big Red extended its lead to 23-0 by the half. Cornell's run of goals would stop at 25 when Brown would tally their first. Alex Langlois came in for Hakan Karabey in the third and Cornell was never threatened. Schick tallied 8, Karabey 6, Stieg and Bilodeau 5 each, Langlois 4, Feldman 3 and the horses 1.

Cornell and Connecticut will compete for an automatic bid to the national championship when the two teams meet on Sunday, March 24 at 12 p.m. at Oxley.
