ITAHCA, N.Y. – The Big Red women's basketball team's 53-45 victory at Dartmouth on Tuesday evening was so nice, the team decided to do it twice, as Cornell downed the Big Green, 60-48, this evening in Newman Arena.  The win gives the Big Red just its second-ever season-sweep of Dartmouth and its first in 29 years (1983-84).

Cornell, which moved ahead of the Big Green in the Ivy League standings with the win, was led by Allyson DiMagno's 19-point, 12-rebound double-double, while senior Taylor Flynn came off the bench and poured in 18 points.  Senior point guard Spencer Lane finished with eight points, eight assists, with no turnovers, and five rebounds.

Dartmouth (6-21, 4-9) was led by Nicola Zimmer and Abbey Schmitt with 11 points apiece. Tia Dawson had a team-high seven rebounds, as five Big Green players finished with at least five rebounds to give the visitors the 42-34 advantage on the boards.

Cornell (13-14, 5-8) had one of its best shooting nights in recent weeks, hitting 40 percent (21-52) from the floor and 33 percent (6-18) from beyond the arc. The visitors managed to connect on just 35 percent (21-60) overall and a mere 20 percent (3-15) from 3-point range.

The Big Red also forced Dartmouth into 15 turnovers while the home team turned the ball over a season low seven times, the fewest turnovers by Cornell since committing just seven turnovers at Dartmouth on Feb. 19, 2011.

The game got off to a slow start for both teams but with the score tied at 5-5 at the 16:18 mark, the Big Red quickly scored seven unanswered points, with four points from Flynn and three points from Lane, to go up 12-5 at the 13:59 mark. The visitors erased the lead and went up once more on a jumper by Dawson with just over 11 minutes to go in the opening half, but DiMagno responded on the Big Red's next trip down the floor to give the home team a lead it would not relinquish.

Cornell eventually pushed its lead to as many as 13 points with just over two minutes to play, as Flynn hit a pair of back-to-back treys to bring the Newman crowd to its feet and force Dartmouth to take a time out.

The Big Green cut the Cornell lead back to single digits at the intermission (29-20) but a 3-pointer from DiMagno, who went 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, pushed the lead back to 12 with just 27 seconds gone in the second half.

Dartmouth continued to battle and made one last push to cut the game to a single possession as Dawson hit a layup to make it a 43-41 game with just over 10 minutes to play, but DiMagno knocked down her second trey of the game, and after a Dawson turnover on the Big Green's next possession, Shelby Lyman hit a 3-pointer to give all the momentum back to Cornell.

From there, the Big Red rolled to the 60-48 victory.

Cornell will tip-off in its final home game of the season and honor its four seniors – Kristina Danielak, Clare Fitzpatrick, Taylor Flynn and Spencer Lane – as it plays host to Harvard on Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m., with Senior Night acknowledgements slated to begin at approximately 6:45 p.m.
