PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Lauren Frazier and senior Sarah O'Neil won the final two singles matches to lead the women's tennis team to a 4-3 victory over Brown on Sunday at Varsity Tennis Courts.
 
The Big Red trailed 2-0 after the Bears won two of three doubles matches and the No. 2 singles match. Junior Ryann Young then got Cornell (13-3, 2-3 Ivy League) on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Sarah Kandath at the No. 3 spot. Freshman Laila Judeh then tied the match at 2 with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Ammu Mandalap at No. 5, improving her individual record in Ivy League matches to 3-2.
 
Brown (6-11, 0-4 Ivy) put Cornell on the brink with Nikita Uberoi's three-set victory at the No. 4 spot, but the Big Red had one last rally in it. Frazier dropped her first set in the No. 6 bout with Olivia Hsu, but she stayed alive by winning the second set in a tiebreaker. Frazier then won the third set, 6-3, to put the balance of the match in the No. 1 position.
 
That's where O'Neil had topped Misia Krasowski in the first set, 6-4, but the Bears' senior fought back to force a third set. O'Neil came out on top, 6-3, to clinch the match for the Big Red.
 
Frazier and Young teamed up for the Big Red's lone doubles victory, defeating Mandalap and Uberoi, 8-5, at the No. 2 position. It's the second straight win for Cornell in the all-time series, with 12 of the last 13 clashes ending in scores of 4-3 or 5-2.
 
Cornell wraps up its stretch of three consecutive matches away from home on Friday at Princeton before returning home for its finale at noon Sunday against Penn.
