ITHACA, N.Y. — Senior
Christine Ordway teamed with freshman
Dena Tanenbaum to win a doubles match, then freshman
Laila Judeh was victorious at the No. 5 singles position, but that was all the women's tennis team could muster on Saturday in a 6-1 loss to Harvard at Reis Tennis Center.
Harvard (9-5, 1-1 Ivy League) took the doubles portion of the match to take a 1-0 lead. Ordway and Tanenbaum defeated Sylvia Li and Amanda Lin at the No. 2 position, 8-6.
Judeh's victory came against Li at No. 5 singles. She comfortably won the first set, 6-5, then held off Li with a 7-5 victory in the second set to account for the Big Red's only point on the day.
Cornell returns to action with its first Ivy League road trip next weekend, when it takes on Yale and Brown.
