ITHACA, N.Y. -- Binghamton's pitching stymied Cornell's hitters all afternoon, surrendering just eight hits in sweeping the Big Red 7-0 and 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Niemand*Robison Field. Cornell ends its season with a 21-29 record, while the Bearcats improved to 28-13.

Junior Alyson Onyon threw another gem, but again took a hard-luck loss in the nightcap. She allowed just three hits and an unearned run in the sixth inning while striking out six.

Freshman Emily Weinberg went 3-for-5 on the afternoon, while Erin Belles had a pair of hits in her final collegiate games. Weinberg added a double and a stolen base to lead Cornell's offense.

In game one, Binghamton jumped on the Big Red for three in the second and four in the third and the home team wasn't able to answer against Demi Laney and Kate Price, who limited Cornell to five hits in the shutout. Weinberg had two of the Big Red's hits, including a double. The Bearcats pounded out 15 hits, including Caitlyn Friis fifth home run of the year in the second.

Sammy Roth pitched four-hit ball and struck out three over 3.1 innings of relief.

In game two, neither team could find any traction at the plate as Onyon and BU's Rhoda Marsteller each dominated. Marsteller struck out 10 and allowed just three singles in the win. The only run came after a drag bunt single by Colleen Dougherty. She reached second on a throwing error, and after a pair of infield groundouts, Tiffany McIntosh singled to center to score Binghamton's eventual game-winning run.
