Box Score (PDF) CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Cornell men's soccer hit the road for the first time during Ivy League play on Saturday, traveling to Cambridge, Mass., to square off with red-hot Harvard. The Big Red battled hard in a tightly contested game, but came up short in a 1-0 loss to the Crimson.
Cornell (6-4-1, 0-2-0 Ivy League) got to its game early against the Crimson (7-3-0, 2-0-0 Ivy League). The Harvard offense entered the game as the top scoring offense in the Ivy League; however, the Big Red shut down the vaunted Crimson offense in the opening half of play. Cornell held the Crimson to just five shots – none on net – in the opening 45 minutes of play.
The Crimson broke through just two minutes into the second session. Hiroki Kobayashi knocked home a rebound off a Christian Sady shot to put Harvard up 1-0.
Cornell pressed for the equalizer forcing consistent pressure in the Crimson defensive third. While the Big Red would control play for stretches, it could not translate the pressure into shots as the team only got off five attempts in the second half.

The Big Red will return to action on Tuesday when it closes out its non-conference schedule with a trip to Colgate. Opening kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
