ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team secured a 7-2 victory over Drexel on Saturday, bookended by a pair of 8-1 losses to Trinity and St. Lawrence — the No. 1- and 2-ranked teams in the nation — over a busy weekend at Belkin International Squash Courts.
 
Graham Dietz and Jordan Brail had two victories apiece on the weekend for Cornell (5-4), which is ranked seventh in the nation by the College Squash Association. Brail was the Big Red's lone victor against the top-ranked Bantams on Sunday, winning a four-set affair at the No. 7 position. Dietz accounted for Cornell's lone point against the second-ranked Saints on Friday in a hard-fought four-set tilt at No. 6.
 
Against 12th-ranked Drexel on Saturday, the Big Red had three-set sweeps from Dietz (No. 6) and Andrew Stone (No. 9) to take a 2-1 lead after the first rotation. The Dragons were able to pluck away one more point in the middle rotation before sweeping the final three matches behind Augie Jones (No. 7), Gustav Runersjo (No. 4) and Aditya Jagtap (No. 1).
 
The Big Red returns to Ivy League play next weekend with a trip to Harvard on Saturday and Dartmouth on Sunday.
