Jonathan Cullom led the Big Red with five shots in men's soccer's 1-0 loss to Brown on Saturday afternoon at Berman Field.

Cornell (3-10-1, 1-3 Ivy) held a dramatic 7-1 advantage in shots in the first half, with four of those seven tries coming from Cullom. The sophomore's first quality chance came after junior
JJ Black hustled up the left sideline and sent a cross into Cullom, who missed just wide. Later in the frame, the Bears goalkeeper got caught out of position, and Cullom took possession of the ball, only to have his try blocked by a Brown defender as the keeper regained his spot on the goal line.

The Bears (7-5-1, 2-1-1 Ivy) scored the game's lone goal in the 60
th minute, with Matthew Chow's corner kick curling into the top corner of the net untouched.

Chris St. Germain's chance to equalize in the 63
rd minute hit the post. Cornell ramped up the pressure in the game's final moments and drew a foul just outside Brown's 18-yard box as the seconds ticked off. Junior
Madison Heck set up in a hurry and got the kick away, but the shot was blocked by the Bears wall as the buzzer sounded.

Now past the halfway mark of Ivy League play, the Big Red will play two games away from Berman Field, beginning with a 4 p.m. contest at Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 31.
