(PDF)ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's soccer team finished its season with a close 1-0 loss to Columbia on Senior Day at Berman Field on Saturday night.
The team's lone senior,
Ben Feldman, was honored in a pregame ceremony.

After the Big Red generated some early pressure around the Lions' goal after a corner kick, Columbia got on the board in the 16
th minute when leading scorer sophomore Arthur Bosua found the right side of the net.

Jonathan Cullom was responsible for setting up Cornell's two best chances to equalize in the first half. In the 26
th minute, he sent a centering pass in to junior
Rafik Mekhaldi, whose point blank shot sailed wide. Then, in the 39
th minute, Cullom crossed a ball in that freshman
Walter Prince flicked just over the right corner of the net.

After making three saves in the first half, sophomore goalkeeper
Mitchell Meyer's lone save of the second stanza was a diving save on Columbia's Owen Marshall, keeping it a one-goal game.

The Big Red held possession for much of the second half, and in the 80
th minute, junior
Madison Heck cracked a shot that had to be pulled down by Lions keeper Kyle Jackson. Moments later, junior
Jack Ferguson's try went just over the net.

With the result, Cornell finished 4-12-1 overall and 2-5 in the Ivy League, good for sixth place.

"We've had a lot of learning lessons this year," said Ferguson, one of the team's captains. "I just think moving forward through the spring and winter and next summer, we'll have a lot to build on, and I think that's exciting."
