ITHACA, N.Y. — Coming off one of its biggest victories in recent memory, the men's tennis team will challenge another nationally ranked team when it plays host to Old Dominion at 6 p.m. Friday at Reis Tennis Center. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but the possiblity of inclement weather later in the weekend spurred the teams to move the contest up to Friday.
Cornell (4-5) moved up six spots to 58th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Assocation's national rankings this week after defeated then-No. 27 Penn State, 4-3, last Saturday. The Big Red suffered a 4-2 loss to then-No. 26 Northwestern the following day. Sophomore
Bernardo Casares Rosa won both of his singles matches at the No. 3 position, including a three-set rally to lock down the winning point against the Nittany Lions. Classmates

Dylan Brown are tied for the team lead with five singles victories apiece. The doubles team of Sinclair and senior
Sam Fleck is 5-0 on the season.
Old Dominion (7-0) is ranked one spot below the Big Red after last Sunday's 6-1 victory over Yale. The Monarchs' two victories over ranked teams this year came against Rice, 5-2, on Jan. 25 and Elon, 7-0, on Feb. 7, and the squad is off to its best start since the 2005-06 season. Carlos Lopez Villa is ranked 87th in the country in singles, where he is a perfect 7-0 in dual matches. Michael Weindl (No. 3) is also 7-0 in singles, and Javier Jover Maestre (No. 5) is 6-0.
The Big Red is 6-4 all-time against the Monarchs, including a 4-1 victory last season at Folks-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center in Norfolk, Va.
