ITHACA, N.Y. -- Albany scored three goals in the final 7:24 to rally for a 12-11 decision over Cornell on Saturday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field. The Great Danes remained unbeaten at 3-0, while the Big Red dropped to 1-1 on the year.

Amie Dickson notched two goals and three helpers, but it was Rachel Bowles of Albany that stole the show. Bowles had six goals and an assist, scoring the game-tying goal with 6:04 left and assisting on Katherine Sweeney's game winner 51 seconds later.Â
Cornell dominated the first 30 minutes, outshooting the Great Danes 26-7 and taking an 8-5 lead into the break. The edge could have been even more - Cornell hit three posts in the first 30 minutes and Albany goalkeeper Courtney Henderson kept her team in the game with seven of her nine saves.Â
Cornell held a 34-19 edge in shots on the afternoon, a 14-11 edge in draw controls and won the ground ball battle 10-9, but Bowles consistently kept the Great Danes from falling too far behind.
Sarah Hefner had a pair of goals and Renee Poullot had seven saves, including five after halftime, to keep the Big Red in the lead most of the way through the second half. Dickson squashed a 5-0 Albany run that gave the visitors their first lead since 1-0 with a free position goal to knot the game at 9-9 with 21:47 left in the contest. That triggered a 3-0 Big Red spurt to go up 11-9, but the final 7:30 of the game belonged to Albany. After Sweeney's go-ahead goal with 5:13 left, Albany was awarded the ensuing draw control and was able to run out the clock despite significant defensive pressure by the Big Red.
