The Vikings (1-3) got on the board first, with an unassisted goal from Gianluca Difranco in the 30

Jonathan Cullom, who slotted his shot into the right corner.
The teams traded chances late in the second half, but the score remained even at the end of 90 minutes. The Big Red got the first two shots of the overtime period, but committed a foul in their own 18-yard box in the 98
th minute. Jake Lagania converted the resulting penalty kick to take the victory for the Vikings.
Cornell outshot Cleveland State 13-12, including eight shots in the second half. Cullom led the Big Red with three shots. Freshman goalkeeper
Rhys Moller had two saves in the loss.
Cornell will stay in Pittsburgh to play its second game of the Duquesne Invitational on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. against no. 12 Oregon State.
