ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team kicked off its season with a convincing 9-0 victory over Williams on Friday in the opener of the Cornell Round Robin at Belkin International Squash Courts.
Entering the weekend ranked 10th in the nation by the College Squash Association, the Big Red won seven of the nine scoring matches in three sets against the 18th-ranked Ephs. Freshman John Greenwood won swept his first collegiate match, competing at the No. 4 position, and sophomore
Kenan Ong recorded his first collegiate win in his second career match.
Making his first appearance at the No. 1 spot,
Andy Muran rallied for a five-set victory. That completed the sweep of the Ephs and gave
David Palmer a victory in his debut as the James Broadhead '57 Head Coach of Squash.
Cornell continues play at the event Sunday with matches against Western Ontario at 10 a.m. and Dickinson at 1 p.m.
