PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown swept the season series from Cornell softball for the first time since 2000 after sweeping Saturday's doubleheader from the Big Red, taking game one 8-0 in six innings before taking hom an 8-4 triumph in game two. The Big Red fell to 4-18 (1-5 Ivy), while the Bears improved to 15-10 (4-2 Ivy).
Game 1Katie Orona tossed a five-hit shutout and a four-run fifth inning sunk the Big Red, which threatened several times while trailing just 2-0 over the first four.
Jessica Bigbie had a pair of hits, including a double, while
Leanne Iannucci also clubbed a double. Yeram Oark was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, while Janet Leung homered for Brown.
Game 2Cornell slammed three home runs and collected 11 hits, but the Bears had 12 hits of their own and used three-run third and sixth innings to complete the series sweep of the Big Red.Â

Jessica Bigbie each hitting a long ball for the Big Red.
Yeram Park was 4-for-4 with a double and a homer to lead the Bears. She scored and drove in three runs apiece.Â
