ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's hockey team's showdown with Ivy League and ECAC Hockey rival Harvard on Friday night is sold out. The last remaining tickets were gobbled up Thursday morning shortly after they were made available.
Cornell (12-4-2) is one of the hottest teams in the country, having posted a 10-1-1 record over its last 12 games. The Big Red is now up to 14th in both major national polls and 11th in the Pairwise Rankings (which are used to objectively fill out the NCAA tournament field) after a 3-3 tie with Clarkson and 3-2 victory over St. Lawrence last weekend at Lynah Rink. Harvard (12-5-2) is currently ninth in the polls and 13th in the Pairwise Rankings, setting up one of the nation's most anticipated games of the night.
In advance of the game, fans are reminded that there is a zero-tolerance policy in place regarding bringing fish into Lynah Rink. Additionally, fans are reminded that alcohol consumption and public intoxication in the rink are also prohibited.
The throwing of any object onto the ice before, during or after the game, or any other disruptive behavior, will not be tolerated and will result in ejection from the rink. Cornell is on notice that any disruption in the game caused by items thrown onto the ice may also result in a delay of game penalty against the Big Red.
Fans should prepare for some delay entering the rink because of package and other inspections at the door. Bags and backpacks and outside food or drink are not permitted inside the rink.
There will also be a no re-entry policy in place until after the first period.
The special weekend continues Saturday with a game against Dartmouth. There will be a special ceremony during the first intermission of the game against the Big Green to honor the 50th anniversary of the 1967 NCAA championship team, which will reunite this weekend in Ithaca.
