ITHACA, N.Y. — Freshman
Jack Greenwood rallied for a four-set victory at the No. 4 position, helping the men's squash team clinch a 5-4 victory over visiting Franklin & Marshall on Friday night at Belkin International Squash Courts.
Cornell (6-5), which entered the weekend ranked 13th in the country by the College Squash Association, got all five of its points from the second through sixth positions in the order. Sophomore
Alex Jung swept his match at No. 6 to get the Big Red on the board, then sophomore
Perry Hanson stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to win his match in five sets at No. 3.
Hanson's victory turned out to be the Big Red's only point among the day's four five-set matches. Sophomore
Andy Muran (No. 2) and senior
Augie Jones (No. 5) won in the middle rotation to put the Big Red one point away from locking up the match. F&M won two of the final three matches to keep it close, but Greenwood stifled the upset threat.
Cornell returns to Ivy League play at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with a match at Columbia.
