Rachel Scherman followed up on the showcase court by staving off her opponent in five sets at No. 2.
The Big Red travels to New York on Sunday with a chance to move up the national rankings with matches against seventh-ranked Columbia (10:30 a.m.) and sixth-ranked Stanford (3 p.m.).
