ITHACA, N.Y. — Co-captain
Rachel Scherman won her match in five sets on Senior Night, but the women's squash team closed the home portion of its schedule with a 7-2 loss to Princeton on Friday night at Belkin International Squash Courts.
Cornell (8-5, 3-3 Ivy League), which entered the weekend ranked seventh in the country by the College Squash Association, also got a victory from junior
Margaux Losty at the No. 3 position. She never trailed in four sets to improve to a sterling 10-3 overall and 4-2 in Ivy matches.
Scherman accounted for the Big Red's second and final point, competing in her final collegiate match at Belkin alongside fellow co-captain
Sydney Francis.
Fourth-ranked Princeton (10-2, 4-2) won six of the other seven scoring matches in straight sets. Cornell has never beaten the Tigers in 25 all-time meetings.
The Big Red closes out its regular season at noon Sunday when it visits No. 2 Penn.
