PHILADELPHIA — Junior
Jordan Brail won his match at the No. 4 position, but the men's squash team came up empty elsewhere in an 8-1 loss to Penn on Sunday afternoon.
Cornell finishes the regular season with a 6-10 overall record and 1-6 in Ivy League play. The Big Red entered the weekend ranked 11th by the College Squash Association, which likely aligns Cornell to compete next weekend in the Hoehn Cup — the 'B' Division of the CSA's national championships.
Competing this weekend from the No. 4 position for the first time this season, Brail also went to five sets for the first time this year. It was his third victory of the season.
Sixth-ranked Penn (8-6, 4-3) won seven of the nine scoring matches in the minimum three sets. The only other Big Red competitor to win a set was senior
Harry Freeman, who fell in four sets from the No. 1 position.
