HANOVER, N.H. — The women's squash team defeated Dartmouth on Saturday, 7-2, to improve to 8-3 overall and 3-1 within Ivy League play in the waning weeks of matches leading up to the College Squash Association national championships. The victory over the 11th-ranked Big Green helps solidify the seventh-ranked Big Red's track for inclusion in the Howe Cup, which is the national event's top flight.
Cornell swept the three matches on the showcase court, even without senior co-captain
Rachel Scherman — the reigning College Squash Women's Player of the Week — in the lineup. Junior
Margaux Losty had little trouble in her collegiate debut in the No. 2 position, and junior
Emma Uible also won handily at No. 3.
The Big Red cruised to victories in the match's final rotation to defeat Dartmouth for a 10th consecutive time.
With the win, the Big Red has concluded play against teams below it in the CSA national rankings. Cornell concludes the weekend with a noon Sunday match at national No. 1 Harvard. The match against the Crimson will be streamed live on subscription-based
Ivy League Digital Network.
