CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The men's squash team was handed a 9-0 loss by top-ranked and undefeated Harvard on Sunday.
Eight of the nine scoring matches were decided in three sets, with freshman
Jared Scherl the only member of Cornell (6-8, 1-4 Ivy League) to force a fourth set in his match at the No. 9 position.
The Big Red entered the weekend ranked 11th in the country by the College Squash Association, which was up two spots from its national standing from before the release of the first computerized tabulations of the year.
Cornell wraps up the regular season with a pair of Ivy League matches next weekend, giving the Big Red a chance to move up the rankings heading into the CSA's national championships Feb. 17-19. The Big Red will host its Senior Day at 5:30 p.m. Friday when it hosts 10th-ranked Princeton, then Cornell travels to No. 6 Penn for the finale at noon Sunday.
