ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's basketball team will renew its longtime rivalry with Central New York foe Syracuse when the two teams meet on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Carrier Dome.
The Big Red and the Orange have met 122 times on the hardwood, more than any other Cornell non-conference opponent other than Colgate (128 meetings). Syracuse leads 91-31 and has won 37 consecutive matchups. Cornell's last win in the series came on Dec. 4, 1968, a 93-81 Big Red triumph in Barton Hall.
The Big Red is 1-23 all-time in the Carrier Dome and 0-22 against the Orange.
Syracuse was 19-15 and reached the second round of the NIT last season.
Orange coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I coaches, enters his 42nd season as Syracuse head coach. He will have the opportunity to coach against son Jimmy Boeheim, who will be a freshman on the Cornell roster.
The rest of the Big Red men's basketball schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
