Women's Soccer Blanked by No. 24 Princeton, 2-0

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's soccer team fell at home to 24th-ranked Princeton, 2-0, on a chilly and rainy Saturday afternoon at Berman Field. The Big Red is now 1-12-1 on the season and 0-6 in Ancient Eight play, while the Tigers advanced to 10-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in Ivy play.

Goalkeeper Meghan Kennedy recorded 11 saves for Cornell.

The first goal came in the 29th minute of action of the foot of Princeton's Mimi Asom, who collected the feed inside the box. She made an impressive move, spinning a firing a shot that Kennedy was able to get a piece of, but the ball spun into the back of the net.

The Big Red stayed close for much of the match before Princeton added the insurance goal in the 88th minute. Cornell had one shot toward target by Shelby Wray.

Cornell plays its final game of the season at 2 p.m. Saturday against Dartmouth at Berman Field. The match will serve as the team's Senior Day, commemorating the final collegiate contest for Jessica Ritchie, Carolyn Ruoff and Kennedy.
