ERIE, Pa – For the second consecutive day, the No. 7/7 Cornell women's hockey team played Mercyhurst to a tie Sunday at the Mercyhurst Ice Arena. The final score was 0-0. Cornell is now 4-1-2 on the season, while Mercyhurst is 6-6-2.

Marlène Boissonnault had a season-high 30 saves. The senior netminder clamped down in the overtime period after the Big Red was issued a major penalty just over a minute into the added frame, whichi caused the Big Red to play the rest of overtime a player down. Boissonnault added four saves to her total to preserve the tie.
On the day, Mercyhurst outshot the Big Red, which was without

Doug Derraugh, 30-18. The four were away with Canadian national team competing in the 4 Nations Cup in Saskatoon in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
This marks the first time since the 2015-16 season that the Big Red played to back-to-back ties. The Big Red tied Brown 2-2 on Jan. 16, 2016 and then tied Clarkson the following weekend 2-2.
The Big Red returns to ECAC Hockey play on next weekend when it takes on Quinnipiac and Princeton on the road. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
