Ananya Dua won from the top singles position, then split up to win each of the top two singles matches in the women's tennis team's 5-2 victory over Yale on Saturday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center.
Junior
Michelle Wang also won at No. 5 for her third consecutive victory at singles, and Cornell (7-12, 1-5) won for the first time in Ivy League play this season.
Yale (6-17, 0-6) took the doubles point via tiebreaker at No. 3, but Dua's tidy 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles tied the score at 1. Wang and freshman
Ana Elhom (No. 6) had similarly decisive wins down the order to get the Big Red to the brink of victory, then clinched it at No. 1. Junior
Mariko Iinuma accounted for the final point with a win at No. 3 in a super tiebreaker.
The Big Red wraps up the season at 1 p.m. Sunday against Brown at Reis. The match is open to the public and free to attend.
