Big Red Announces Upcoming Schedule

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell women's hockey announced its 2018-19 schedule Wednesday morning. The Big Red's slate includes three of the eight teams that made up the 2018 NCAA tournament field: Mercyhurst, Clarkson and Colgate.

The full 2018-19 schedule can be viewed here.

The Big Red finished last season with an overall record of 21-9-3, good enough for the No. 7 spot in the USCHO.com Poll. For the eighth time in the past nine seasons Cornell advanced to the ECAC Hockey semifinals.

Cornell has two exhibition games slotted in mid-October. On Oct. 13, it will square off against the Toronto Junior Aeros, followed by the National Women's Hockey League's Buffalo Beauts on Oct. 14.

Cornell opens its regular season with the first of two scheduled contests against Central New York foe Syracuse at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. The following weekend, it welcomes Ivy League and ECAC Hockey opponents Harvard and Dartmouth on Oct. 26-27, respectively.

The Big Red then embarks on eight-game stretch of road games, starting with a Nov. 2-3 trip to Yale and Brown. The following weekend, Cornell heads to Erie, Pennsylvania, for a two-game bout with the reigning CHA champions, Mercyhurst before returning to ECAC Hockey action for Nov. 16-17 dates with Quinnipiac and Princeton. Cornell closes out its challenging road stand with a weekend series with Robert Morris in Moor Township, Pennsylvania.

Before taking its winter break, Cornell returns to Lynah Rink for home series with the neighbors from the North Country. The Big Red take on St. Lawrence for its lone home game in the month of November, before welcoming in the two-time defending national champion Clarkson Golden Knights on Dec. 1.

Following its nearly six-week hiatus, the Big Red jolts back into action with a midweek matchup at Penn State on Jan. 8, followed by a home series with Princeton and Quinnipiac. Then on Jan. 18-19, Cornell heads back on the road to take on Dartmouth and Harvard.

The Big Red looks to avenge its ECAC Hockey semifinal last-second loss against Colgate, with a home and home series on Jan. 25-26.  On Friday, the Big Red travels to Hamilton to take on the defending national runner-up. On Saturday, the two squads come back to Ithaca for a 3 p.m. matchup. The Big Red stays with its Central New York theme as it heads up to Syracuse on Jan. 29 for its final non-conference game.

Cornell rings in the month of February with a home series against Union and Rensselaer. The following weekend, it makes the trek up north to take on Clarkson and St. Lawrence. The Big Red returns home for its final home games of the regular season on Feb. 15-16, hosting Brown and Yale, respectively. Cornell closes out the season with a weekend trip out to the Capital Region to take on Rensselaer and Union.
