#16 Men's Squash Ends Break With Ivy League Trip

ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team returns from its intersession break for a pair of Ivy League matches on the road this weekend, first visiting second-ranked Harvard at 1 p.m. Saturday before wrapping up the stretch noon Sunday at sixth-ranked Dartmouth. The match against the Crimson will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Cornell (1-3, 0-1 Ivy League) continues to sit in 16th in the Dunlop College Squash Rankings, having been idle since a 7-2 setback against third-ranked Columbia on Dec. 2 and a tight 5-4 loss to now-13th Virginia the day prior. The Big Red's best individual records come at either end of the ladder, with both senior Andy Muran (No. 1) and sophomore Yohann Surti (No. 9) now 3-1 on the year. All of Surti's matches have been the minimum three games, and he joined freshman Nikhil Arjunan Iyer (No. 8) in taking points off the Lions.

Harvard (4-0, 1-0) remains in the nation's No. 2 position after losing just three times last year – twice against Trinity, and the latter decision coming by a 6-3 score in the national championship match. The Crimson started off the year with easy regional victories over Northeastern, Tufts and MIT before opened league play with an 8-1 win over Dartmouth on Dec. 5. Cornell is 2-48 all-time against Harvard, with the most recent victory coming Dec. 4, 2010 in Ithaca.

Dartmouth (4-1, 0-1), which ended a month-long hiatus with an 8-1 victory over #21 Williams on Sunday, has moved up a tick in the rankings with season-opening losses sending St. Lawrence downward. The Big Green has defended its place in the nation's top flight with earlier victories over Navy (No. 8), Drexel (No. 11) and George Washington (No. 14).

Cornell leads the all-time series against Dartmouth, 39-22, though the Big Green has won the last five meetings. The latest was an 8-1 decision last year in Ithaca, but three of the others in that stretch have come via 5-4 margins.

The ESPN+ broadcast at Harvard will feature a camera on each court at Murr Center, with the women's match between the same squads running simultaneously. The links are as follows for Court 1Court 2Court 3Court 4Court 5Court 6.
