#6 Rochester Escapes With 5-4 Win Over #14 Men's Squash

ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team came close to a big upset Wednesday evening, but Rochester escaped Belkin International Squash Courts with a 5-4 victory in the 76th all-time meeting between the regional rivals.
 
Cornell (2-2), ranked 14th in the country by the College Squash Association, got two of its four points via victory at the top of the ladder. Sophomore Charles Culhane won in three games at No. 2, and freshman Veer Chotrani prevailed in four at No. 1. They both improved to 3-1 on the season, along with sophomore Alex Dworetzky – a three-game winner at No. 8.
 
The Big Red's fourth point came against sixth-ranked Rochester (1-0) from sophomore Nicholas Göth Errington, who moved to 4-0 on the season. He won in four from the No. 6 position, helping Cornell come within just one point of securing its second win over Rochester in their last 11 meetings.
 
Cornell ends its stretch of five straight home matches to start the season at noon Sunday, when it opens Ivy League play against Columbia at Belkin International Squash Courts.
