ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's tennis team will head into Ivy League play later this month on a three-match winning streak, thanks to a pair of victories on Saturday against Siena and Marist at Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red opened the day with a 6-1 decision over the Saints before sweeping the Red Foxes, 7-0.
 
Cornell (6-9) won 10 singles matches in straight sets on the day, including a love-love win from senior Mariko Iinuma at the No. 2 position in the Marist match. Freshman Maria Adiaconitei was the most dominant in the match against Siena (8-4), winning at the No. 3 spot, 6-1, 6-0. By the time the Saints recorded their lone point at No. 6 singles, the Big Red had already clinched the match.
 
The Big Red then dominated the Red Foxes, with the visitors winning no more than five games in any singles match. Cornell is now 6-0 combined in all-time matches against Siena and Marist. The Big Red opens its Ivy League schedule on Saturday, March 30, when it takes on Columbia.
