ITHACA, N.Y. -- Penn broke open a close game with a six-run fourth inning and then cruised to a 14-0 win in five innings against Cornell on Sunday afternoon at Niemand-Robison Field to complete a season sweep of the Big Red. The Quakers improved to 17-11 (8-4 Ivy), while Cornell slipped to 5-24 (2-7 Ivy).

Ruby Sugayan, but for the second straight day, Penn's Jennifer Brann held the Big Red offense in check. Brann scattered four hits and struck out three in a complete game shutout for her second win in as many days. Emma Nedley swung the big bat with a 4-for-4 day with a triple and five runs batted in, while Sam Pederson, Sarah Cwiertnia and Kayla Ketring also had multi-hit games. Hannah Gibbons slammed her second home run of the year in the win.
Penn scored single runs in each of the first three innings, but plated six in the fourth and five more in the fifth to run away with the victory.
The Big Red remain home for a doubleheader against Central New York rival Colgate on Tuesday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Niemand-Robison Field.
