Taylor Knibb was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America first team in Women's Track/Cross Country it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their events and in the classroom. It is the second straight year a Cornell women's track athlete earned Academic All-America honors, with
Briar Brumley '18 capturing third team honors last summer.
Knibb, a junior psychology major, owns a cumulative grade point average of 4.12. Knibb advanced the to the NCAA cross country championship in the fall, where she was the recipient of the NCAA Women's Cross Country Elite 90 Award, presented annually to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships. Following the cross country season, which saw her take in first team All-Ivy and all-region honors, Knibb also collected Academic All-Ivy League honors and USTFCCA All-Academic accolades for the fall. A world-class triathlete, Knibb won the 2018 Under-23 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in September. The Washington, D.C., native was a semifinalist for the AAU James E. Sullivan Award, which is given annually to the nation's best amateur athlete.
